Deerhoof.

A while ago I posted a song by Be Your Own Pet, and I think I’ve “bested” it. Enter Deerhoof. Founded in San Fransisco, Deerhoof is a mixture of happy melodies with experimental flair and hyper-expressive instrument playing. It’s awesome. The first track is from their yet unreleased album, Offend Maggie. And the second from their album, Friend Opportunity.

Cold War Kids.

There are only a few albums I can’t truly wait for, Wolfmother, Tom Vek, and Cold War Kids. Last week Cold War Kids new album leaked on the Internet. I was sooooooo excited. Though I wanted to wait until I could listen to the whole thing. That happened four days ago on my way to school.

The first track, Against Privacy, was “good.” Though not great, it was better then a lot of music out there. It was very down tempo and minimalistic. The next song was little more up tempo but still felt like the previous.

This “theme” is carried through the album. A comment on last.fm hit the nail on the head, “the tracks themselves aren’t as varying from one section to another.” Nothing really jumped out and said listen to this. As I said before, the album is good not great. Robbers and Cowards is going to stick as my favorite.

Here are some tacks.
